So the coined “lost generation” was people born into fighting WW1 and that time period was also characterized by massive amounts of immigration when that generation became adults. This led to an aimless hedonistic lifestyle that eventually collapsed with the economy and created a socialist hellhole.
We replaced world wars with infinite “not quite wars” but the mass immigration spike starting around the mid/late 80s and completely displaced younger Gen X, millennials, and older Gen Z leading to aimless hedonism which has created a bubble that will likely pop with the boomers dying off and we’re already seeing a resurgence of a socialist hellhole.
Communism isn't a viable economic system - it's a forest fire. When people become disaffected to the extent that they are no longer able to forge meaningful lives, via either family formation or aspirational works, then the impetus for labor vanishes and is replaced by spiteful grift and theft. This triggers the downward spiral of socialism into communism followed by collapse.
Why work hard today? If you're a white man, your productivity will be stolen to pay for others even as you yourself are denied advancement. If you're not a white man, then just profit off of them. Take jobs via DEI, take money from the government, die having never contributed, and hope that you'll pass on before the bill comes due.
That's nonsense. Meaningful works are meaningful specifically because they have intrinsic value totally independent of the society around them.
There are plenty of things worth working hard towards, including family, justice, truth, and spiritual growth. The only thing that's wrong is that you have to battle against your own (pathological) society to acheive anything.
There was ambiguity in my writing. I view family formation and aspirational works as foundations for meaning in life. Society is increasingly structured to discourage or prevent such endeavors. Of course men should strive for such things even in defiance of a corrupted society, but that's not a sustainable model on a population level.
