Nobody is calling this an Oscar-worthy movie. The point is the technology. In the right hands, with more time, this tech could be used to tell some amazing stories. I've seen short videos where people have recreated the cinematography of films like "The Dark Crystal" and "Willow" to make really moody, nostalgic scenes. This tech can recreate ANY visual style, making that Studio Ghibli LOTR trilogy possible.
This was an uncomfortable watch but it took me a little bit to put a finger on it. I think its the quick cuts coupled with the way the background morphs between those cuts. Any given shot looks good-enough, but when strung together they give the whole thing this kind of disconcerting unreality, like the uncanny valley but for video.
And yet, I wouldn't even call this good.
It's STILL better than the real shit being pushed.

My kids used to watch a show called Miniforce (or one of the many spin offs).
This is basically that, but rated PG-13. And yes, Miniforce is awful, but I guess it vibes with the 3-5 y.o. demographic.
I was watching PAW Patrol and realized it was just Thunderbirds with puppies. If they combined equipment it would turn into Power Ranger Puppies.
