The Eric Corbett saga is one of feminist infiltration of WP. For those unaware the dude was an amazing article writer (you know, the supposed purpose of WP) but also a raging asshole. His assholery made him a lot of enemies but his article writing made him a lot of friends, and any attempt to ban him deadlocked as a result. Then the feminists took over WP. Corbett wasn't exactly our ally but he opposed many of the bad actors that were shitting up the GG article and destroying WP's internal processes with DEI (Corbett only really focused on the latter; he wasn't involved in the GG clusterfuck). He was actually hauled before WP's kangaroo court around the same as the fight over the GG article. It took a couple years but the feminists were finally able to knife him for good. It's insane if you think about it. The dude had so many enemies, some of the very powerful, but he was untouchable. Then he crossed the feminists controlling WP and that was the end.
Yeah, that's fair. When I say he wasn't exactly our ally I meant he wasn't one of the people directly trying to unfuck the articles that we focus on. His main article work was on uncontroversial encyclopedic topics. It's just that the people shitting up the articles were also maliciously gaming WP's internal processes to go after their opponents so we shared a common enemy with Corbett. It's less that he disagreed with us and more that he was fighting a different but loosely related battle against the same bad actors.
