Whew, times flies. Feels like just yesterday, I was listening to various talking heads like Sargon around the start of GamerGate.
It definitely feels like GG planted the seeds for many people to fight back against the agenda ruining gaming. I wouldn't say GG won, since gaming is still under attack from these scum, but there's no denying it played a big part in today's defense of gaming. And people like Sargon helped, even if only in a small way.
GG technically lost, but that loss caused them to overextend and begin to expose the ugly underside of the media and those in power we really never got to see before. I’d call it a strategic win.
Lose the battle, win the war, as they say.
We lost the AAA studios to wokeness and DEI, but thankfully the AA and lower studios (or a few guys in their house) are gaining ground. With AI tools allowing one competent coder to do what ten used to do before, it'll only get better (but will come with loads of slop to sift through).
That was Flash and mods back in the day. Bring it. I want the Specialists on Switch 2.
I completely agree. The future is looking up, especially with the AAA imploding.
