The Manhattan Project had slide-rules for calculators and were inventing something new. Their "computers" were people.

The Iranians had modern centrifuges and control systems and designs known to work.

It's not at all comparable, it's laughable.

Lots of other countries haven't done it because they don't want to get bombed by America and don't feel under direct threat, not because it's hard to do. Duh.
