Going to add this to my "why are you always so on edge around black people?" folder. Got tired of trying to explain it to people, so I just forward them a document and say "try however many links you want for your answer".
I wonder how many people who are 'on edge around black people' are so when it's a well-groomed black guy in a suit vs. someone who has his pants hanging below his ankles and slouching like hell.
Well, for my personal racism clock, I'm less on edge around a well groomed black guy in a suit, but I'm never not on edge.
In my personal experience, even a well groomed black person typically holds very "black" views in things.
If you've seen some of the recent clips from the Karmelo Anthony trial, for example, you might have seen that one lady who, when asked if she thought that, if the evidence said that Anthony murdered Metcalf instead of it being self defence, would the black community accept that, and the lady, with almost nary a thought, said no. Said that they need to back their own, because the white people are against them.
Most of the black people I've worked with held those views, regardless of reality and independent of things like socioeconomic class. Not all; I've met the Sowell analogs in various indistries, but those people were unicorns. Exceptions that proved the rule.
So, while I may not expect a well groomed black man or woman to necessarily shoot or stab me (though it's not outside the realm of possibility, same as with whites or asians or etc.), I do entirely expect them to be on the other team if something does happen to me or those around me.
And thus I'm still never not on edge around blacks.
This tbh. The nigger in saggy pants and a durag might shoot or stab me. The "well groomed" black will come up with reasons why I deserved it.
And donate to the funding of the first guy.
