A padlock that fits on a uhaul isn't going to keep a determined attacker out for long.
The thieves apparently hotwired the truck and drove off with it to steal at their leisure.
The other explanation is the dykes left the keys in the ignition overnight, which is phenomenally stupid.
My guess is the latter.
My guess is both but the thieves play for the love the game so much they still hotwired it.
