slow claps Doing a rug pull on a free week play when the MAJORITY of the Destiny 2 playerbase hates you and Sony's guts, it's like they WANT Bungie to die..
It's pretty obvious to me that they never intended for the $14 to include the base game. They'd never sell it that cheap. This is just a colossal fuckup. No one working for the company with any power to make decisions knows how to solve this either. It's clear they should have explained the error, then given everyone who purchase it the base game for free. Then maybe add some humor about how for those who missed their chance to snag it at this price, don't worry because it won't be the last mistake we make. Voila. Happy fanbase, probably more sales, etc... But this sort of thinking requires White people in charge.
>Game listed for MSRP
>Deluxe upgrade listed for $14
>Game does a trial for a week
>Absolute retards (double retards, considering they were playing Marathon) buy the DLC
>Free week ends
>SAAR, I GIVE $14! WHERE HOLE GAME! I GIVE $14!!
That's not a rug pull. That's someone trying to jew a 60% discount that no reasonable person would have expected. There's plenty to hate about this game, people trying to exploit the storefront isn't one of them.
The make-good here is to do refunds. On the off chance someone bought it in good-faith.
Edit: They might actually be fucked. The "Deluxe Edition" option does in fact list "Marathon" as part of the contents. And says that the launch price of that item was $59.99, now on sale for $14. I had thought that level of incompetence impossible. Guess they should give a free copy of the game to the 6 people stupid enough to have paid any money for it.
Rockstar has done "leave regular version full price while discounting the deluxe version with 40 bucks of premium currency" on GTA5 multiple times. It's not as outlandish as you make it out to be.
The jeetifcation of the industry continues. DO NOT REDEEM!

They deserve it for giving the publishers $14.
And now the Playstation will go up another fifty bucks to pay for this fuck-up, just like it went up in cost to cover Concord's losses.
