I remember going to a Memorial Day concert at the Capitol once and they had Gary Sinise hosting (apparently he still does it every year) with Joe Mantegna with the military bands playing patriotic songs. It was nice, that's all they need.
Now we're talkin'. I'd also like to see a lot of time set aside to salute our founding fathers, the patriots in Washington's army, and those who gave their lives for this country through its existence believing they fought for the people. All gave some, some gave all; including the founding fathers.
Also a reflection on the real values of this country, including that it was founded on the premise that power is derived from the people.
