The final year of boomer healthcare is estimated to cost 250k per generational vampire. Imagine going back in time and offering the Greatest Generation one more year of miserable elderly life in exchange for their children's entire inheritance. No, only the boomers are selfish enough to make that bargain.
Anyways, this is classic modern liberal government:
Acknowledge an undeniable problem, in this case the collapsed birthrate
Ignore the actual cause, in this case feminism
Blame the wrong thing, in this case socioeconomics
Deploy a bogus solution that doesn't target the problem but does give you more money/power, in this case yet another tax
Use your confiscated wealth to fund all the shit that makes everything worse, in this case more feminism and immigration

Dude the so called greatest gen have been doing this for decades. I still take care of people at work that were born in the 30s and pre ww2. They just linger and suck resources forever.

It's one year. He's talking about dying with some dignity instead of filling ancient veins with experimental pharmaceuticals to squeeze out a few more months of consciousness.
