That bit about gold/silver is especially terrifying. I did the math on my own assets and despite my net worth in USD more than doubling over the last 10 years, my net worth in Gold actually decreased by ~30% over the last 10 years.
inflation is WAAAY worse than they are telling you!

At my company in the last 5 years I have went from about $16 an hour to about $28 an hour. However, not only have my hours been slightly reduced to where I rarely get overtime anymore, inflation has made everything so much more expensive that I make less actual wealth than I did at the start despite technically making more per year.
