I saw, yesterday, that it turned out Anita 'My favourite game is Ms. Pac-Man' Sarkeeesian was involved with the development of this game and thought "Shit, review bombing and more articles about dems ebil goobergoters incoming".
But thankfully a game released, in early access, 2 months ago, last updated over 2 weeks ago has already had its fair share of negative reviews about mechanics and so anything negative associated with it from her involvement in it isn't central as to why people are unhappy with it.
Seems like a PR stunt to get some press and being able to blame perceived 'failures' as some sort of <Insert whichever isms and phobias are currently fashionable> for its decline within the greater gaming community.
That and I expect Anita will have some sort of book or product coming out soon and wants to generate some interest in selling whatever it is.
Weaksauce, another reason why AI is better than 'journalists' and any attempt to try and place this onto Gamergate is an attempt, by the press, the silence Chinese voices who don't have access to Discord or Reddit (Ultimately heavily moderated domains anyway) and yet have purchased the game and have things to say about it.
This Summer...Watch, in glee, at the diaspora of Disney defrauders taking up all the jobs behind the counter at your local coffee shop - coming soon to a Starbucks near you.
Seems like a PR stunt to get some press and being able to blame perceived 'failures' as some sort of <Insert whichever isms and phobias are currently fashionable> for its decline within the greater gaming community.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.
I have never tried to pay my bills with positive PR from fluff pieces, but I imagine it would get a good laugh out of my creditors if I tried. I look forward to seeing how well it works for them. I'm sure all of their employees prefer getting positive press coverage over getting a paycheck, so it should work out just fine.
