u/MAGATRON2020 is a cool dude. I've followed his posts since 2020 when I had my first account on The_Zognald. Back before the domain got ransomed and hijacked by mods -- so the story goes -- who stole the site from the original guy who made the original Reddit.
The whole transition from Reddit to TDW to PDW was strange. Especially doing it all without crowd funding and never disclosing who pays for it.
I think it’s quite clear who pays for it all.

I don't know about the funding, but I thought the moderators were very negligent in allowing their sub to be banned. It may have happened eventually, but by openly provoking the administration, they pasted a big fat "this was our fault" sticker on their forehead and prevented any free speech complaints in their favor.

These two were among the first additional boards created back when the site branched out from having just the one T_D lifeboat board. But for some reason this site absolutely sucks at getting people to find new boards and ended up super siloed.
Its just a pain in the ass in the other direction. Have been forever.
