Microslop still charges for the license so it's not that surprising. It's less a discount than a "feature" that's being removed.
Yea but I was under the impression PC builders also get money for all the bloatware they install on their builds, which usually only runs on Windows.
Plus, 70 bucks seems steep for a Windows license. I've never paid more than 6-10 bucks for an OEM license off ebay.
I mean windows license is like 100$ if you just type in "windows 11 key".

They make most of their money from stealing your data. That's why they don't give a fuck if you pirate their jeetware.
There's also a huge chunk that's just them charging the government or other businesses licensing fees for their enterprise stuff. The peasantry buying a copy of Windows is not at all where they're making their money, but the government and wallstreet both have plenty of money to offer.
Windows is not free. If you’re Paying for the labor, why are they charging $71 less for Ubuntu?
You bought windows 7. Upgrades to 10 and 11 were free.
