Honestly I think there's a case to be made that leaving vanquished enemies alive only to live in the shadows within their conquered lands, never to see their people flourish again while being constantly reminded of their own inferiority by the success of the their conquerors...it's less humane than just killing every last one of them. I wouldn't want to live in an America that was conquered and stolen from me in that way. It would be hell on earth.
It's almost like they want to make us regret the mercy our ancestors showed them.
