Earning $0 - $95k: Life sucks
$95k - $250k: Life is good
$250k - $500k: Life SUCKS
$500k - $2M: Life is good
$2M - $5M: Life is AWESOME
$5M+: You are Jewish
In canada, if you dare to earn 250k, every single penny will be taxed at 60%. not kidding. 54% max taxes + various fees for social programs/deductions.
This in effect means that if you work monday to friday, you work monday, tuesday and wednesday 100% for the government. And of course you still need to pay sales taxes, various taxes ("accise taxes"), etc
The main problem here is that unless you are born into this, by the time you reach this amount, you will be in your 50s, and life is essentially over anyway
