None of those images look like it takes place in the desert -- all of those characters are dressed in European garb from the middle-ages. Looks like more Euro-appropriated culture.
Yes because a handful migrated just like irl a handful of people occasionally survived migration to other continents. Yall are arguing against established lore in the games
