30 hours to fight a fire is a long time. That ship has been on deployment for 9 months already, and apparently their deployment may be extended to April, or even May, which would be a year, longest deployment in the modern era.
As i posted recently, there’s a rumor that a bunch of soldiers are refusing to go die for Israel as they’re ordered out to the battlefield. Idk if it’s true, BUT, never has it been more obvious that a war had fuck all to do with American interests than this one, and there are still loads of leftists in our military so it’s entirely possible there’s a legit soft revolt occurring, where our soldiers are sabotaging equipment like plugging toilets on ships, starting fires, etc.
I wish that was true, but I know this is because of all the DEI hires.
This cant be true. Every single military person I've met was DYING to go to war.
Even modern DEI soldiers who only joined for the gibs?
Gerald Ford just can't stop taking tumbles.
I'm honestly a bit surprised how many people got that joke.
Some of us have seen Hot Shots; it's called culture.
I've heard rumors that if it wasn't maintenance related, it's either a missile or drone strike from Iran, or the crew started it on purpose (similar to the other reports of people stuffing shirts down toilets to sabotage the ship).
They're going to do an analysis at Greece to see if it was sabotage or not.
It sounds like they started doing section 8 housing on board the ship.
Those seem like the two most plausible explanations.
I enjoyed my time in Souda Bay back in the 2000s. It was a small port though. They must have upgraded it in the last 20 years
Funniest description of this madness that I've seen

I like the one comment: "they forgot to declare victory before running away."
