30 hours to fight a fire is a long time. That ship has been on deployment for 9 months already, and apparently their deployment may be extended to April, or even May, which would be a year, longest deployment in the modern era.
I've heard rumors that if it wasn't maintenance related, it's either a missile or drone strike from Iran, or the crew started it on purpose (similar to the other reports of people stuffing shirts down toilets to sabotage the ship).
They're going to do an analysis at Greece to see if it was sabotage or not.
It sounds like they started doing section 8 housing on board the ship.
Those seem like the two most plausible explanations.
