When I was a kid I always wondered why my dad was the one always doing romantic things for my mom like getting flowers, giving compliments, taking her on dates or buying expensive jewelry, etc. while my mother largely didn't do things like that. I was taught that women were the romantic sex, since they apparently thought about it all the time.

Time has taught me that men really are the ones with romantic ideals, not women.
