Post COVID there was a study that noted women had lost a massive chunk of social skills. They lost all inhibitions around that time, and were also noted to stop caring how they dress. throw in their ever increasing fanaticism for progressivism and it isn't surprising they cannot read the room.
I think that applied to both sexes. The amount of laziness over appearance and grooming is appalling. No one has ever called me well dressed I don’t think, but you will never get me for not being neat and groomed. Its called being an adult.
I'm not sure it's unusual anywhere really. Shocking to me. I feel lazy if I go out in sweatpants when I do my grocery shopping, and that's typically early on a Saturday morning when few people are out.

I see both men and women shop in their pajamas at the supermarket semi-regularly. Then again I live in a deep-blue city.
