This is kind of why charity doesn't really work from the giving side. If you solve the problem, you are now out of a job, so you are incentivized to keep the problem going for as long as you can. This doesn't even get into the fact that charities largely spend most of their money on advertisements and then six figure salaries for their administrators.

by and large, charity organizations are indeed a scam. my favorite example is digging into the financials of the American Red Cross.
I found local charities which have focused missions tend to be legit, and at the very least they're easier to assess yourself.
