At extreme levels bodybuilding culture leads to the same outcomes as women's eating disorders (death by 29), but overall most kids trying to bulk are improving themselves.
"I skipped a meal once, so I have anorexia and deserve social media clout. Well, no I didn't skip the ENTIRE meal, but I didn't finish all of the carbs. And that's definitely disordered eating."
An obese woman can easily be anorexic. Just not for long. One of the two of those things are going to break.
But if a 500 pound hamplanet of a woman one day just goes "fuck it, I'm not eating until I'm 400 pounds lighter", she's both going to be anorexic, and still going to be obese for over a year (since you lose about a pound a day).
And while she has the caloric reserves to not get merc'd by the anorexia, the vitamins and minerals you need, many ARE flushed from the system when in excess, so such a woman would be possible to suffer from a human form of Rabbit Starvation, and die of hunger and famine while overweight (Scurvy is an obvious one, but I think iron deficiency would get her first).
You CAN crash-diet anorexia-style and live, many have done so, but you need to monitor your vitals carefully while doing so, even when massively overweight, to avoid secondary health issues.
EDIT: In the example above, at month 6, the woman would be about 350 lbs. A MASSIVE weight loss, but still definitely obese. But if I asked you simply "is someone who has eaten nothing but water for 6 months anorexic", the obvious answer is "yes".

unrelated- but - can an obese woman be anorexic?
anorexia is the only mental illness where we would say “no - you need to have historically succeeded to be classed as anorexic”

That reminds me of a famous case where a guy fasted for a year (in the hospital) and took off 300 pounds or something like that. Crazy stuff.
