Same thing that happened to sports cards in the 90s. Tens of thousands of cards worth less than the paper they were printed on, with only maybe a half dozen worth anything at all.
They overprinted and devalued themselves.
You'll still hear people telling others to tear up the cards, they're valueless ... because they want to have their cards be worth more than a fraction of a penny.
One difference, Magic cards are playing pieces in a game.
The issue is that wokeness and other bad decisions have destroyed the player base.
I don't like the way cards look in 2.0. I'm sure I'd get used to it, but I don't want to. I'll keep my old decks.
Game was unaffordable for high schoolers.
Scummy for sure but what did they expect? They "invested" in manufactured scarcity products that can be reprinted whenever the company feels like it.

I read through the details and I'm not sure if shareholders will win. Kind of hard to claim management is fucking up when management doubled revenue. Sounds like some activists are just mad they reprinted Black Lotus despite saying they never would.
