I've got a friend with a college degree (BA in English) that I had to explain how to use an electric coffee grinder I got him one Christmas.
"Dude, how does this work?"
"You put the coffee beans into the grinder, turn it on, then put the grinds in coffee maker."
"Yeah but how many?"
"Enough for your taste in coffee? I find I only need a certain amount."
"Well... how long do I run the grinder for?"
"..." Are you kidding me?! "For how ever long it takes to get the amount of grind you want for taste."
"oookkaaayyy... I'll try this out...."
Those sound like completely reasonable questions from someone who has never used a coffee grinder before.
Really? "These are perfectly reasonable questions for how to use a salt shaker"
Yes. Were you born knowing how many beans to grind for a cup of coffee? Even in your 'absurd' counter example, were you born knowing how much salt makes something 'too salty'?
So you always ask for training by someone else and never learned how to think for yourself. Got it.
