They don't need to. Red States allow them to grab the criminals from inside jail cells, instead of releasing them in the streets with no consequence for their crimes, for ICE to pursue. They're cooperating.

Many red states are full of illegals.
And the law enforcement in those states collaborate with ICE to at least release the ones they have in their custody to them. I wouldn't expect them to go out of their way to round up every single illegal in their State, even if that would be the optimal way to go about it in order to have the most significant impact on crime rates in America. They should, but it's beyond their expertise and could be considered outside of their purview.
