ICE agent doesn't make chump change. Most of the USSS agents in the field office I interned in were at least a GS-11, with most a GS-13, and GS-11 gets you from $63k at step1 up to $82k at step 10. Location bonuses also apply, so if that agent is based out of Washington DC he gets a lot more.

If he's single, he is making pretty good money.
