While I'm still livid at him over the whole Epstein thing, it is amusing watching a president flip someone off.
It does make one wonder what's the best for statemen like Trump to engage hecklers.
Flipping them off is likely cathartic. But also doesn't seem statesmenlike & beneath the office you hold.
Stopping to engage with them gives them legitimacy.
Simply pretending you don't hear them makes you seem weak, uncaring, distant, etc.
Comedians love to grab the mic to deny hecklers their veto. But that's a very different scenario & setting.
There is the alternative of standing quietly and looking ashamed, like Biden did before winning the primaries when someone heckled him about his son being a crackhead.
