Correct, and I said as much. I still think ICE was looking for a fight though. I won't do the whole 'he was already next to her when he fired' bit, because it fails to take reflexes into account, and the first shot did go through the front windshield, albeit at an angle.
I think he may have bene looking for trouble, but that he also reacted in defensive instinct.
Part of my point is they should have been trained to not get in that position because, as I've said, the left was looking for this sort of incident. ICE should have prioritized not handing it to them. 'Defend yourself if needed, but try not to get into a position where you need to' should have been the operating procedure. And doesn't seem it was.
That's what I mean about this being avoidable. I'm not saying this wasn't a self defensive shoot.

I think sending the National Guard to escort ICE is a proper response to the organized & escalating violence the left is attacking agents with every single day now.
I don't know enough about what it is exactly ICE is hoping to accomplish, and I'm hesitant with further federal involvement...but, yeah, something to that effect seems sensible, if they can avoid incidents like this.

That wasn't here, but that's an interesting point. Hadn't thought of it that way, and worth considering, although not sure I agree. I think he kind of walked past the wife to step in front of the vehicle still. Wife was on the right side of the vehicle, and he was further right. He had to walk past her to get in front. If he'd been moving away from her, he would have moved further from the vehicle too, presumable.
