I've seen some very good looking half black half white kids that aren't famous people, but I think it's fair to say that the standard deviation is extremely high and perhaps more tilted to the negative end of the distribution.
I think it's usually people with mixed ancestry already so they have someEuropean features that blend well with white people. Ive seen a few examples of black being straight up bred out of a mixed couple after 2 generations of mixed people having kids

The vast majority of black people you see on camera have been mixed with another race (white, mexican, jewish, asian, whatever).
Cue up some National Geographic videos if you need a reminder of what unmixed black people actually look like.
