Leaving aside the fact the fan blades point in random directions, have random lengths and cast irregular shadows, the 'dividing wall' makes no sense. It's a 2 foot long 1 inch thick wall which separates a chest of drawers from empty space. On the right, the corner beyond the bathroom doorframe doesn't reach from the ceiling to the ground. The whole thing looks like garbage.
The perspective lines probably agreed better in those apartments and the divider wasn't transparent. Whatever, people clearly tolerate this shit, so have at it.
Hahaha You say it doesn't make sense as I have one right here in my dining room. Sometimes it doesn't make sense from an architectural layout, but it could be loadbearing and/or appliances are running through there (pipes, electrical, gas). And lots of places were built in the 60's so they've been heavily modified since original construction. I'd laugh if you were saying it isn't realistic and the author just drew his actual house hahaha.
Yes, it's clearly a small apartment. My sister lived in one with almost this exact layout. You see them a lot near universities. Far end is a livingroom with the big window, to the left is a kitchen/dining area. That divider is at the end of an island/breakfast area. Fridge and Stove are opposite the island, behind the wall on the left. Behind the camera are the bathroom and one or two bedrooms. There's also a popular variant that is the same, except the big window is on the left side from this viewpoint, and another hallway with another two bedrooms and bathroom extend away from the viewer. Like I said, popular for student housing.
Laundry, etc. will be in the basement or elsewhere in the building shared by all units.
Second panel looks AI gen. Wtf is that ceiling fan(??) and room layout?

I’ve seen apartments like that.

Probably drawers in a kitchen, with the top being a countertop. That's also why the floor is a different material instead of carpet.
It's odd, but sometimes apartments (especially studio apartments) do weird things to make use of the limited space.
