Tears of the Kingdom wasn't shit, it just wasn't a Zelda game. Neither was Breath of the Wild, IMO. I thought they were both well made and really liked some things about them, but they weren't what I'm looking for in Zelda.
Same with Mario Kart: World. I beat every single race at on 150cc first try and was like, "ok, uhh, now I just hunt for costumes and stickers? The fuck is this?"
Prime 4 looks like more of the same, but done by a US studio so it has Current Year writing. Hooray.
This'll be the first Metroid game I don't purchase.
I held off on buying the first Switch because it didn't have a Metroid game at the time, and since this was in development I was waiting to see if Prime would come out for it.
I am so fucking dejected by this. I can see elements of what made the original Prime games great but they are clearly just lipstick on a pig. They took the parts of Other M that nobody cared about like the Federation trooper side characters and didn't include any of the good parts of it like the Metroidvania aspects.
Plus, who the fuck asked for open world Metroid? With a motorbike?

Nintendo did. every single one of their games on switch II has been open world. the success of breath of the wild convinced the execs the open world was exclusively the future. this was expected given Nintendo is run by a bunch of non-gamer pencil pushers who do not accept being told "no".

without Iwata, Nintendo turned into Ubisoft.
