Well I think a free market system could work and then have charities of course but most will never go for it. Have insurance only for catastrophic things
Neither the insurance companies nor the free market are the cause or the solution to the cost of healthcare. The entire problem boils down to who is paying for it, or more specifically, who isn't.
As long as hospitals are going to treat everyone who walks in the door whether they pay or not (cough, illegals), the cost of the parasites is going to be passed on to the people who actually pay. It doesn't matter if it is through insurance or through the free market, if you are paying for yourself and ten other people, it's going to be expensive.
Tip of the iceberg. Healthcare spends 20 billion a year on just adapting to new healthcare regulations every year. On top of that, hospitals buy planned obsolescence equipment that is not even supposed to last a decade and usually get immediately cycled out for “new” equipment that has a 2% higher efficiency for twice the running cost. The entire healthcare system is an insane mess that has been litigated into being a government industry and just as corrupt, it makes the mafias grip on construction look like child’s play. There’s a reason that hospital systems are mass conglomerates now and it’s because they’re literally on the verge of collapse from insane costs and have to become “too big to fail”. This is mostly due to a massive spike in DEI over the past decade in female admins and turd worlders getting powerful positions. Vivek’s scam is an everyday occurrence in almost every branch of medicine.
That’s true. That’s like if restaurants were forced to feed anyone that was hungry, their prices would skyrocket. But so many people would balk at the idea of hospitals not taking in everyone. Then I guess we could have charities for those who wanted to pay for the people with nothing. But you are right. Until that is addressed nothing will get solved

You're retarded. Charity never goes to those most in need or deserving, it goes to parasites and the connected and the men most in need of healthcare are the ones who are least likely to have the means to pay.

No kidding. You can't have universal healthcare or a social safety net AND Open Borders.

I don't want to be left to die just because I've been denied the chance to have wealth.
You wouldn't need to be wealthy to pay for medical care if you weren't also paying for all the free riders.
True. Granted we all will die one day but I’m not saying we should deny care but it is a factor in why healthcare is expensive

You could argue that govt funds don’t go to the ones that need it most. Lots of reasons health care is expensive
