Seeing the videos of that shit-tier character infesting the Metroid series genuinely upset me.
Then again this game has a motorcycle named Vi-o-la, an overworld, and psychic abilities for Samus. Doesn't seem like they are taking the series very seriously with this one.
Just give me a Dread sequel and I'll be happy. 3D Metroid was always inferior.
I have finally gotten around to playing the Metroid Prime remaster over the last few weeks, and holy shit does that game not hold up. Simply looking around is frustrating as hell, and the backtracking is a major slog. Edit: and to be clear, I remember really enjoying it on the gamecube.
Super Metroid on the other hand, still kicks ass. The genre really doesn't translate well to 3D.
That was my only real gripe with all 3 of the Prime games. (Well, that and some of the dumb story bits forced into Prime 3)
They could have completely eliminated the end-game "find the keys, but also we're going to tell you where they are" crap. Make it an optional thing to get a super weapon or something. But it really killed the pacing of the end of the games.

Yeah I quit that one once you have to go back and collect 8 artifacts or some bullshit.
