From the sounds of it all they got was to talk about it again in January, with the only thing "won" is most of the fired federal employees get unfired and their backpay (which I think was always going to be the case legally speaking so not much 'won').
Seems like the Dem's expected what you said, and were losing more than they were gaining so they are reconvening to try and formulate a plan to win at a later date.
