The entire narrative pushed on boomers was “magic soil” and “all cultures are equal”. While it’s true that minorities can assimilate (see Sowell, Elder, etc) it is always a minority of the population. It’s also the greatest lie pushed on a generation, the harsh truth is the majority will always be race/ tribe first. We benefited from those willing to assimilate and allowed the majority who wouldn’t. This has cascaded into a free fall of the Overton Window where it always shifts left as long as there is money to spend and people to import. The next decade will see the collapse of Americana in full, I don’t blame the minority that assimilated versus the rampant ideology of “multiculturalism” that is pushed. The problem is no matter how we vote America the “great experiment” is gone. We are currently in the death of the empire and there’s no party willing to change the status quo. What matters is if there’s a nation worthy of saving. This is nothing new to anyone here, but still something that must be discussed for the generations after us.

So just devils advocate here. But I don’t think “all cultures are equal, magic soil” is their founding mythology. Their founding mythology is “we, the good guys won WWII.” Therefore everything “we” do is correct, and everything opposed is incorrect. Race relativism is an output of that but boomers did live through the race riots of the civil rights era, and boomers were calling niggers “niggers” and kikes “kikes” when they were growing up.
But Boomers also are the most TV spoon fed generation of all time so it was not hard to shift the Overton window on them, they were the generation of “if I can see it on TV it’s real” so it was easy to rewrite the script.
Bear in mind too that boomers literally rode wave after wave of financial success their entire lives. So that’s a major point of validation of their world view. How could you Mr. Millennial, Gen Z etc. know anything about how the economy works, when I’m buying my second retirement home and you’re working as a grocery store barista ?
Boomers act brainwashed, because they are brainwashed, and easily. they don’t need foundational myths, they’re literal propaganda sponges.

They clearly weren't normal racists if they were growing up in the civil rights era. The older boomers were already being indoctrinated into antiracism in schools in the 1950s. Go watch a film called key largo from the 1930s, a major plot point is how the evil white man kills two poor injun boys who are wrongly accused of killing a cop. It goes way back and the boomers grew up in that culture.
There's a little more nuance than that. Boomer racism isn't the same as NatSoc.

White Boomer children watched as integration was forced on them at gunpoint. Those public Little Rock schools? Nigger wastelands. Those suburbs they grew up in? Also nigger wastelands (and barrios). The colleges they had fun drinking & smoking pot in? Commie wastelands.
