It ended badly for their chosen faction, and the Biafrans have only risen again very recently.

Wikipedia has naturally deleted all the fun from their article on the conflict some time after that video got made, but we might get to see something similarly hilarious if the present-day hostilities escalate.
And you aren't pragmatic. Can you say you care about every human struggling on earth? One can, but do they actually care? Likely not. We all have a finite bandwidth of time, money, and resources and cannot physically care about everyone's plight.

You can get a small insight into the Nigerian Christians' mindset just by listening to their songs. Silly & memey as African propaganda songs tend to be (and this is no exception), I think it's a good sign that the singer calls on his audience to continue fighting to defend themselves, their families & their homes instead of bailing out to the West or really anywhere else.
