It was saying "no" to the degenerate wannabe bohemians of the early 20th century. It was saying "no" to the destruction of economic stability and the rampant spread of disease.

Considering that "No" started Gamergate and got Trump elected, twice, I imagine "No" gives them Vietnam-style flashbacks.
