That shit is hilarious. Guess which one is the remaster in this side by side
All this improvement for only 1000x the system requirements. Yes, literally. The original requires 16mb of vram, the remaster recommends 16gb.
Edit: For cpu requirements, the original recommends pentium II 300mhz, which is so old that it's not on passmark, but a score of ~40 can be extrapolated. Remaster recommends a ryzen 7 5800 which has a passmark score of 25,785. So only ~644x as much compute. A contemporary gpu like the riva tnt2 would have a fill rate of ~250MTexels/s, the remaster recommends a 2080 which has a fill rate of ~315GTexels/s, so 1260x.
Calling it Xbox 360 graphics is quite the compliment if you know how old the original Deus Ex is .
Anyways the true terror if the seeing the remake Deus Ex compared to a high rez fan mod is look at character models. Seeing the security robot in that picture isn't bad but the characters is where it's really a ugly fest.
Place your bets. What will be the next 90s/00s era PC classic to get a DEI remake/sequel that completely ruins the IP?
Deus Ex. They're already making a remaster to test the waters.

So JC now fights the patriarchy and becomes a tranny?
Nah, they won't go that far. They'll censor a thing or two at most.
I would’ve said KOTOR, but it already was one when it released.
KOTOR was a DEI remake/sequel that ruined the IP? What?
Read posts before replying to them.
So you're suggesting KOTOR was DEI slop that ruined its own IP when it released.
What exactly am I misunderstanding?
