There doesn't seem to be anything new and exciting going on these days.
No fads taking everyone by storm. No new technology everyone is discussing (AI is pretty meh at the moment, especially with the censorship). No new entertainment everyone has to see.
Maybe I'm out of the loop but I don't feel I am. Anyone else kinda feel this way?
one phenomenon of the world wide web is that the world is no longer mysterious. Before accessible Internet, few people actually experienced the world. To Americans, Japan was a land of noble samurai and ninjas. India was a spiritual mecca with rich culture. England was a land of chivalry. France was the romantic capital of the world. Germany was full of Nazis.
Then dialup gave nerds access to people across the world, then smart phones gave normies that same access. Over a few decades, everyone would learn that the world is either apartment complexes and restaurants, or shithole slums, with cultural icons roped off and curated like Disneyland.
There's nothing exciting anymore because nothing is left to the imagination.

Well, I'm not sure about everyone else, but digging into understanding why things are happening this way has certainly been fascinating to me. Despite claims that everything has already been discovered, my own experience has been that the real world is infinite, and there will never be a shortage of mysteries.
Reconciling that perspective with how everyone is behaving, can open quite a few doors.
There's nothing exciting anymore but to experience the world itself.
