Literally the only Western adaptation that made the characters more attractive was Edge of Tomorrow and I think that was entirely Tom Cruise's influence keeping any woke out.
Honestly, I still find the original manga on which the movie was based to be much more interesting. I actually like the original Rita Vrataski's design.
Fair, though at this point we are at subjective taste of two objectively attractive options.
