Why is the beholder of all creatures partying with them? Aren't those creatures supposed to be super racist or something?
Unless it's smiling from all the methods it's thinking up on how to exterminate the town.
And homicidal. And powerful/dangerous. And hyper intelligent, which is why the 2000 D&D movie reducing them to glorified guard dogs was such a travesty.
So the beholder is the tranny representation then!

Because the things - I won't call them people - this is for are so soft, weak, and neurotic that even pretend conflict is too much for them. So they turn everything the touch into soft, safe, boring "cozy" shit. And if course fag it up, too, since apparently shit fucking and aids is cozy.
I'm just going to assume the beholder cast a powerful charm spell over the entire town and is looking forward to the horrified reaction when it drops the spell mid-debauchery.
