Can someone explain to me why Highly Tanned Americans love names starting with "le" and "de" so much? Leroy I understand, that's just Français for "the king". But Lebron? Demarcus? What is that?

Then add a couple hundred years of practicing a ritual without knowing why, and you get these insane names we see today, which also and often now have “African” gibberish incorporated into them on top
