The whole "TikTok is CHY-na" was a deep state psy-op to get control over censorship on TikTok. In reality, even before this appointment, they were censoring things that the deep state did not like.
What is it about being an IDF soldier that gets you all of these network job opportunities?
If anything Israel is going to try and exert influence on the US wing of TikTok, but that doesn't mean it's not still run by China. There are no non-government corporations under Communism. The employees themselves will still have to respond to the party if they are Chinese. Tiktok is not an Israeli structure, they're just trying to influence it (especially since it's how they lost a portion of the propaganda war early on)

Does it matter if it's "run by China" when it obeys the US security state even more than Youtube? Note that videos critical of Ukraine etc. get taken down on Tiktok even though they are allowed by Youtube.
Is it still a Chinese corporation with Chinese employees? Then yes.
