The right is just as bad the right when it comes to this btw... this "empathy" this "feel good". This high road and moral high ground is exactly what it is.. just so you can feel morally superior and feel good about being on the high ground.
The moral high ground IS what wins people over.
If the right, two weeks from now, is cheering a hypothetical assassination of some leftist activist, then people will conclude that the right is just as bad.
