First of all, yes, private entities absolutely can ban you from speaking on their property. The 1A only restricts the government from jailing you. If we couldn't ban people from this sub, it would be an unreadable mess.
Second, the problem with the lefts cancelling is it was usually just a handful of terminally online freaks, digging through hundreds of tweets dating back years to find one example of a person saying "nigger", usually as a joke. It was completely devoid of nuance and purely vindictive.
The right is using it to get women who work with children fired because they're glad a normie was murdered. Does any normal person want a sociopath like that near thier kids?
The problem is always just the left, not the tools they use.
It is revenge, I would have been more then ok 10 years ago to defend their right to be assholes outside work. What you do in your own time is your business. As long as you're not advertising where you work on your profile then do what ever (some exceptions for public figures or upper management).
But after trying to get people canceled for saying white lives matter, not believing that men can become women, making fun of pronouns, saying the n word in a private chat 2 year earlier, going after a girls parents because the girl sang a rap song, canceling people for being critical of immigration, a guy maybe doing an 0 with his fingers - I do not care.
What should I worry? That it will be used against me? I'm using a VPN from an anonymous account despite having very moderate views on most topics.
If everyone agreed that politics had to be kept out of work, then we'd be fine. But instead it's that your company is going to use HR to push Leftist indoctrination on you, while using profits to fund Leftist NGO's to literally harass and threaten you because you have anti-Leftist opinions.
If we could separate work and politics, than we'd be fine. But this was categorically denied to us, and will not be stopped until HR starts forcing people to watch John Birch Society videos for annual de-sensitivity training.
I do not ever remember a time when it was socially acceptable to cheer on a political assassination.
If this had happened 20, 30, 40 years ago, people would have been fired, ostracised by friends, family, etc.
Cancel Culture was getting people fired simply for disagreeing with the left wing. Openly celebrating a murder is an entirely different thing and would never have been okay before the words "cancel culture" were even in the public dialogue.
It's pure and simple gaslighting to continue the comparison.
It’s already being used against us, and has been used against us for years, therefore I don’t care if it’s used against leftists. Although I do feel like we are being socially engineered to accept the death of the 1st amendment, I mean the total abolishment of the 1st amendment since they already chipped away at it years ago through the civil rights act, the fair housing act, and forced integration, which took away our freedom of association that’s supposed to be a part of the 1st amendment. Makes perfect sense for them to push people to give up on the 1st amendment if one of the main goals for the future is a government run social credit system that persecutes everyone for wrong think/speak.
