Very wrong on the name change. It is the first time I truly want one of the Pauls to lose badly. This move will bring a tiny amount of honesty back to government. Although if you think about it his whiny argument aligns with libertarian/ancap principles. They claim to be nonviolent but can justify any atrocity if they have power. 'You violated the NAP. I may now obliterate you and force your women and children into indentured servitude. (not slavery, they will be made to sign contracts) Purely self-defense you see.' I also agree with completely and utterly obliterating my enemies, but I don't hide behind clean legalisms. Its war.
Rand Paul is very bearish on war, given that stance I think "department of defense" would become more honest by itself if his position where to come into power, so I don't think he's egregiously wrong.
