Does this concept also apply to women? Or is makeup/shapewear/pretending she is "available" fair game in pursuit of sexual ends?
And if a woman reads a book that men find appealing, is it also not a lie? Or does she become a pick me?
This is one of the reasons why they repeat the mantra that "we wear it/look like this for us not you." And treat it as a self confidence thing completely divorced from men.
We know that's a lie, but its part of the importance of that delusion. So they can dodge that easy accusation.
Seems easy enough to simply counter, "it doesn't matter why you're lying, only that you are."
We know it's a lie because a woman wouldn't put on makeup or get lip/cheek filler or botox or breast implants living on an island in total isolation. Physical "beauty" augments like those are used to derive self-worth from others' admiration. You can't derive confidence from smearing makeup on your face unless someone else sees it, so it can't possibly be "for me, not you."
It boosts confidence because it makes them more sexually appealing to men. Being a better prospective mate boosts an individual's confidence. Being better equipped in the game of passing on one's genetic lineage is reason enough to gain some measure of confidence, but they'll never admit it even if they do manage to put the puzzle pieces together.
It's dishonesty all the way down and I've grown tired of it.
