The cringe takes on a new form. And you just know that white people will take them seriously and even be apologetic about everything, instead of treating them as the fringe lunatics that they are.
It sort of reminds me of 'The Kingdom' in 'The Walking Dead'. Similar level of cringe.
Some politicians in Québec, including the mayor of Montréal, parrot the false claim that Montréal is ''unceded Mohawk territory''.
The Mohawks come from the Great Lake bassin, not anywhere in Québec.
The island of Montréal had no population when the French settled it to built a city on it.
To this day, the ethnicity with the longest uninterupted presence on Montréal island is the ethnic Québécois, and it makes the pretend-natives seethe so fucking hard.
