Gotcha. Texas only started open carry for all guns about a decade ago. Before you could only open carry shotguns or antique pistols as long as you”you don’t brandish it in a threatening manner”
And they made a big deal out of it in Texas when they finally were allowed to open carry any modern firearm
In Ohio we've had OC since 1803 when we became a state.
We've had statewide preemption over all gun laws for decades now so no democrat city or village could infringe on the state Constitution by banning IOC or CC inside their limits.
And we've have concealed constitutional carry since 2022.
Some states are late to the party.
Agreed. I love my state but Texas isn’t as gun friendly as the reputation makes you think. I really am surprised open carry took so long. Any democrats in Ohio ever threaten the gun laws there?
Every big city, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, Dayton, and some of the smaller ones.
Twenty different cities in total. They would arrest and charge you, force you to defend yourself in court.
The nonsense stopped when the Ohio Supreme Court told those filing the lawsuits preemption is the law in every part of Ohio, and cities citing Home Rule as their basis for passing their own more restrictive gun laws was in violation of state law and stop with the bullshit or else.
The best part was preemption was expanded to include all firearms ever made, knives and other bearable arms each time the cities would arrest a ctizen for carrying something they didn't like.
Do they even hand out conceal carry licenses? As best I can figure Maryland is just rolling as hard as they can to outright ban guns because they have such an egregious nigger problem.
Yes, Maryland does allow concealed carry of a handgun, but it requires a state-issued Wear and Carry Handgun Permit (WCHP). Open carry of a handgun is prohibited as of October 1, 2023. uscca
To obtain a WCHP, applicants must be at least 21 years old (or 18 for employment purposes), complete a state-approved 16-hour firearms training course (including live-fire training), and pass a background check. Maryland also requires a digital photo, live scan fingerprints, and an online application
That's from Google. It sounds like a hassle to get a permit
Maryland is concealed carry, open carry is illegal.

All states are "Shall Issue" states from Bruin. That doesn't mean they won't fight it, or put additional hoops for you to jump through.
